Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

1. Service description

Mawlaia provides developer APIs and SDKs for AI safety and compliance tooling: PII Vault (PII detection and tokenization), EvalForge (LLM output evaluation), Guardrail (content safety policies and audit logging), and DocParse (structured document extraction). The service is provided as a software tool. It supports your compliance work but does not constitute legal advice, and using it does not by itself make your systems compliant with any regulation.

2. Accounts and API keys

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and API keys confidential. Requests authenticated with your keys are treated as yours.
  • Rotate or revoke a key immediately from the dashboard if you suspect it has been exposed.
  • One account per user. Team usage is supported through organization plans with seat invitations, not credential sharing.

3. Plans and billing

  • Free: limited monthly quotas, no payment required.
  • Pro (€49/month or €490/year) and Starter (€99/month, 3 seats): billed via Stripe at the start of each billing period.
  • Team (€299/month): organization-level plan with pooled quotas and seats.
  • Top-up packs: one-time purchases that add non-expiring burst quota on top of your monthly allowance.
  • Prices are VAT-exclusive where applicable. Subscriptions auto-renew; you can cancel anytime from the billing portal and keep access until the end of the paid period.
  • Annual plans are refundable within 14 days of initial purchase; monthly plans are non-refundable after the billing date.
  • We may change prices with 30 days’ notice to registered users.

4. Quotas and fair use

  • Each plan includes monthly usage quotas per product. Quotas reset at the start of each billing month; top-up quota never resets and is consumed as overflow.
  • When a quota is exhausted, the API returns an explicit quota-exceeded error; requests are not silently billed.
  • We may apply rate limits to protect platform stability. Attempts to circumvent quotas or rate limits are a breach of these terms.

5. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the APIs to process data you have no legal right to process.
  • Do not use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable regulations, including EU data protection law.
  • Do not reverse-engineer the platform or systematically extract its data or models.
  • Do not resell API access without a written agreement with us.
  • Do not circumvent authentication, quotas, rate limits, or billing mechanisms.

6. Your data

  • You retain full ownership of all content you send to the APIs and of the outputs generated for you.
  • PII Vault token mappings are stored encrypted and are only accessible with your API keys. You can clear your vault at any time from the account page.
  • We do not use your API payloads to train models.
  • Usage metadata (volumes, timestamps, product, status) is retained for billing, quota accounting, and audit features.
  • You can export your usage data and delete your account (including vault data and API keys) from the dashboard at any time.

7. EU AI Act positioning

Mawlaia products map to specific controls of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the EU AI Act) and expose machine-readable compliance metadata. This mapping is informational tooling: responsibility for your own classification, obligations, and conformity under the EU AI Act and any other regulation remains yours.

8. Service availability and changes

  • The service is provided without a contractual uptime guarantee on self-serve plans. We aim for high availability and communicate significant incidents.
  • We may evolve, add, or retire features. Material degradations of a paid plan are announced with 30 days’ notice.

9. Intellectual property

  • The Mawlaia platform, including its software, design, SDKs, and documentation, is proprietary or licensed under the terms indicated in each public repository.
  • Open-source SDKs are governed by the license included in their packages.
  • You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the APIs for the duration of your plan.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. AI-based detection, evaluation, and extraction are probabilistic and may produce false positives or false negatives; you remain responsible for reviewing outputs used in production systems. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard; deletion cancels active subscriptions and removes your vault data and API keys.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of France, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under your local jurisdiction.
